Bringing together all voices to realize big bets on climate action

Innovate4Cities is a city-focused research and innovation initiative that addresses critical data, innovation and technological gaps to enable cities to take accelerated and more ambitious climate action. Co-developed by cities, city networks, scientists and research institutions, and leading private sector entities, the initiative focuses on the areas most critical to drive climate action in cities.

Through Innovate4Cities we call upon:

National Governments to allocate at least one-third of their R&D budgets over the next decade to city climate action priorities

The Private Sector to partners with cities and local governments to share data and solutions for the public benefit.

Academia to recruit 10 million new students globally by 2025 in climate-change related studies.

Cities and local governments to fully embrace their leadership role in accelerating climate action.
